Local Private University To Offer Storytelling Course Spring 2011

Learn to get your message out with new skill, learn to engage minds in innovative ways, foster imagination in youth, spice up a topic through tales that paint images, motivate and inspire, simply by learning to speak the common language of humanity - storytelling.

Southwestern Christian University, Bethany, Oklahoma will be offering a beginning storytelling course in a weekend module for Spring 2011.

The course is LIS/SPCH 2642 Storytelling: Techniques and Methods to be offered Friday March 4 and Saturday March 5 from 8:30 to 4:30.


The two hour credit course is "designed to introduce the history, values, methods, and applications of the art of oral storytelling with audiences of diverse ages, settings, and purpose. Storytelling is used in education, religion, business, communication, health care, and youth services."  Prerequisite: Introduction to Speech Communication (or equivalent).
