Facebook Group Promotes Oklahoma Storytelling

Let me tell you about....Promoting Oklahoma Storytellers

A new group page on Facebook allows performers to add files and announce upcoming "gigs" or events.

Storytellers in Oklahoma, or those wishing to perform in Oklahoma, can post .pdf flyers, schedules, descriptions, etc. under "Files."   Storytelling guilds and groups can post information about get-togethers, meetings, workshops, etc.

It is designed to assist groups, organizations, and individual storytellers to be more effective and easily discovered by those looking for performers to add to their event.

Anyone can join the group.

Become One of the Few, The Proud and Entertaining!

Let me tell you about....Membership in the Territory Tellers as listener, supporter, or performer!

In the arts, as in many things, there is a need for a supportive peer mentoring environment or resource.  Assess the supportive nature of your organization by three simple tests: Does the group provide skill upgrade events? Does the group recognize and honor its members achievements/contributions? Does the group provide positive and helpful feedback for members to improve their skills?

Another Spirit of Oklahoma Storytelling Festival Is History!

Let me tell you about....the Spirit of Oklahoma Storytelling Festival.

The 9th annual Spirit of Oklahoma Storytelling Festival concluded Saturday, June 13, 2015 and already plans are being made for the grand celebration of a decade of festivals sponsored by the state's storytelling organization, The Territory Tellers.

Moving to Bethany, Oklahoma, and the lovely campus of SNU, in 2013 the festival is one of an artistic trifecta of storytelling festivals in Oklahoma.  The development of a story event in Tulsa in the early spring (usually around April), the Bethany event (2nd weekend of June) and the OKC Storytelling Festival at the History Center (Aug 27-28, 2015), combined with the annual November celebrations of storytelling via the 'Tellabration', and growing urban 'Story Slams', the Oklahoma landscape is seeded with tremendous potential for both youth and adults!  Mark  your calendars now!
